Fall is in full swing with lots of fun festivals, pumpkins and corn mazes to visit. Here’s a roundup of fun things to do in and around Forsyth County, GA this weekend!

Friday, October 16

10:00 AM – Hampton Park Library – Busy Builders. Let’s build something together! Playing with LEGO and other building blocks can help develop your child’s cognitive learning and social skills! Every Friday morning we will set out a collection of kid-friendly building blocks for an engaging and educational drop-in playtime. You bring your creativity, we’ll provide the rest! All ages are welcome to attend this family program. Registration is not required, drop-in anytime!

10:30 AM – Hampton Park Library – Wild Things Story Time – Let the wild rumpus start! Join us for a special Where the Wild Things Are storytime and party! Come dressed as your favorite wild thing! Be prepared to gnash your terrible teeth and roar your terrible roars during our wild rumpus parade!

1:00 pm – 4:00 pm – Cumming Library – Fall Drop-in Crafts – School is out so drop by and join us for some creative crafts of all kinds just for Fall!  This is a family program and all ages are welcome to attend.  No registration is required.

1:30 pm – 2:30 pm – Sharon Forks Library – Autumn Drop-in Crafts – School is out so drop by and join us for some creative crafts of all kinds just for Fall!  This is a family program and all ages are welcome to attend.  No registration is required.

Saturday, October 17

10:00 am – 2:00 pm – Car Show Castleberry Road Baptist Church – Join us for our 5th annual classic car show. The cost to enter you car is $25 but admission is free to all who would like to come and see the cars. We will have trophies for various categories and prizes to give away. There will be food, music and raffles! 7225 Castleberry Road, Cumming, GA 30040.

10:00 am – 12:00 pm – Michaels Kids Club Event: Kids Club® pet spider! Let the kids craft while you shop, and then they get to take their creativity home with them! Just $2 per 30-minute session – including supplies. Ages 3 & up welcome!

11:00 am – 4:00 pm – The Annual Mutts & More Festival is this weekend on Saturday, October 24 and Sunday, October 25, 2015 from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm at Warbington Farms, 5555 Crow Road, Cumming, GA 30041. There will be fun for everyone, pets too! Lots of kid’s activities, petting zoo, hay rides, adoption pavilion, music, vendors and food. Admission is $5 for ages 12 and older; $10 for ages 2-12. The festival benefits the Humane Society of Forsyth County.

11:00 am – Barnes & Noble – The Collection Forsyth. Celebrate Halloween with Storytime and activities featuring Click, Clack, Boo!

11:15 AM – Post Road Library – Saturday Family Storytime at Post. Start your weekend off right at the Post Road library. We’ll have books, dancing and fun! This storytime is great for the whole family!

4:00 pm – 6:00 pm – Halloween Trick or Treating at The Collection Forsyth. Bring the whole family for a safe & fun night of Trick or Treating from store to store within the center and enjoy kids activities and special treats!

5:00 pm – 8:00 pm – Cumming First United Methodist Church Night in the Patch – 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Hot dog dinner, It’s The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown outdoor movie shown on the lawn at dusk, hayride, chili cookoff, roasting s’mores and popcorn, punkin chunking and more!

5:00 pm – 7:30 pm – Fall festival at First Baptist Cumming. 1597 Sawnee Drive, Cumming, GA. Inflatables, cake walk, petting zoo, hayrides, giveaways, food, Trunk or Treat, and more!

6:00 pm – 9:00 pm – Trunk or Treat Safety Event at the Cumming Fairgrounds. Admission is one bag of candy per family.  Children are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes to Trunk or Treat, which will feature bean bag toss, face painting and other fun activities and games. There will also be information on costume safety, pedestrian safety, stranger danger, stop-drop-roll demonstrations, and more!

Sunday, October 25

FESTIVALS NEARBY

Octoberfest! The Alpine Village of Helen is celebrating its European roots this month with nightly Oktoberfest activities. Activities will be from 6-10:30 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, 6 p.m. to midnight Fridays, 1 p.m. to midnight. Saturdays and 1-7 p.m. Sundays at 1074 Edelweiss Strasse. Celebrations will end Nov. 1. Tickets are $8 Monday through Friday, $10 Saturday and free on Sunday. For more information, visit www.helenchamber.com.

Mountain Moonshine Festival – The 48th Annual Mountain Moonshine Festival and Car Show is in Dawsonville, GA this weekend. All proceeds support KARE for Kids, Inc., a non-profit organization in Dawson County. This event includes arts, crafts, food, music and activities for the entire family. The festival will run from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday in downtown Dawsonville.
